Changes at the OLNC

Effective September 30, 2020, I, Shawn Williams, will be resigning as Executive Director of the Old Louisville Neighborhood Council. It has been a privilege to serve this historic community and its wonderful residents. We have accomplished much in the past five years. Click here to learn more about those accomplishments.

We have accomplished much in the past five years:

  • Developed a new Strategic Plan facilitated by the Center For Nonprofit Excellence

  • Developed a new executive director role for the OLNC

  • Developed and implemented a new fundraising plan

  • Organized the association’s finances

  • Launched a new revenue-producing Historic Old Louisville Walking Tour

  • Published a 48-page 4-color self-guided walking tour booklet highlighting the historic preservation district. (Paid for with advertisements)

  • Developed Group Tours for the walking tours and home tours

  • American Planning Association designated Old Louisville as “One of the Great Places in America” 2016

  • Launched the Old Louisville LIVE free concerts in Central Park in 2016

  • Launched the Old Lou Brew Craft Beer Festival in 2017

  • Launched the Old Louisville Mansions Tour in 2018

  • Launched an Old Louisville Arts Council in 2016 ~ Strengthening Community Partnerships

  • Established stronger working relationships with Kentucky Shakespeare and the Conrad Caldwell House Museum and the Filson Historical Society

  • Launched an Old Louisville Business Alliance in 2018 ~ Strengthening Business Relationships

  • Established stronger working relationships with Louisville Tourism and area attractions

  • Established a stronger working relationship with Louisville Metro Planning and Design

  • Established a stronger working relationship with Olmsted Conservancy

  • Expanded the Old Louisville Neighborhood Facebook page from 1000 to over 4700 followers

  • Established a newly designed oldlouisville.org website which elevates the Old Louisville Neighborhood Council’s online presence

  • Received a $10,000 grant from Louisville Tourism for the development of short films on the Old Louisville Holiday Home Tour, Mansions Tour, and the Old Lou Brew to promote these events more effectively. Michael Breeding Media created several commercials and PSAs which are used on our social media platform.
