For over 25 years, the OLNC's Property and Improvement Committee (PIC) has fought abandoned and neglected properties, planted trees, and worked to preserve and protect this historic preservation district.

Herb Fink is a landscape architect and entrepreneur. He has served on the Louisville County Boards and commissions for the city of Louisville, and is a member of Louisville Metro Code Board from 2010 to 2016. Herb is currently the Chair of the Louisville Metro Landmarks Architectural Review Committee, and has had the position since 1995. This volunteer leader has also received several awards, including the Ida Lee Willis Memorial Foundation Service to Preservation Award in 2019 and the Brightside Fred Wiche Award in 2003. A portion of Lee St in Old Louisville was also honorably named,
"Herb Fink Way".
